PCL (Ansin 503)
The teacher station in the PCL has the ability to project and play audio from the desktop computer, a visitor laptop, a DVD, Blu-ray, and more. All of these options are controlled using the rack under the desk. The switcher (red buttons) allows you to switch between different sources easily; simply use the number that corresponds to your input.
Input 1: Teacher Station Computer
Input 2: Blu Ray Player
Input 3: Visitor HDMI input
Projector
Turn on the projector using the remote. This may take a minute to warm up - a green light will blink underneath the projector if it is warming up.
The projector itself should always be set to "HDMI 1" - we will always use the switcher on the rack to toggle our source.
To temporarily mute the projector, use the “blank" button on the remote.
Audio
The volume is controlled by the silver "intonato" knob to the right of your monitor.
On the Intonato knob's display, you will see a dB reading. If this reads 0.0 dB, turn the volume up using the knob.
If you are still not getting any sound, check the audio source in the computer system settings.
The correct audio setting for the speakers is “VS-611DT”
If you are playing audio from an NLE like Premiere, be sure that the audio hardware preferences within the NLE match the Mac’s system settings.
Sources:
Desktop
To display the desktop of the teacher station, change the Switcher input on the rack to 1.
There are two main ways to display the desktop - as a mirror of the teacher station screen, or as a second monitor. Mirroring should be on by default. If you'd like to change this, open the system settings.
Navigate to Displays
Click on the second display - "VS-611DT"
Next to "Use as" open the drop down menu and select "Extended display" to stop mirroring. If you'd like to return to mirroring, open the same drop down and select "mirror for DELL U2720Q"
Visitor Laptop
To display your laptop's screen, we will use the HDMI input on the rack. You should find an HDMI cable resting on top of the rack(if not, you can check out an HDMI cable from the 810 Annex).
Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI input beneath the switcher (labeled "Laptop").
If your laptop does not have an HDMI output, USB-C adapters are available in the 810 annex.
Once you have the HDMI cable plugged into both the rack and your laptop, press source 3 on the switcher to display your laptop on the projector.
To play audio from your laptop over the speakers, make sure the output is set correctly on your machine. Open your sound preferences and select "VS-611DT"
Blu-ray/DVD
To display a Blu-ray or DVD, power on the Panasonic player in the rack. Change the Switcher input on the rack to 2. The Blu-ray player should now appear on the projector. Use the remote control (typically left on the desk) to control the player.
