Compatible SDXC Cards

 

  • You can use SD cards from standard SD to SDXC to record but a SDXC might be required for shooting burst photos or higher quality video recording. For more the full capatiblity guide can be found at fujifilm-x.com.

Quick Start Guide

First Steps

  • Insert Battery
    • Turn the power switch off.
    • The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the camera.
    • When inserting the battery, do not use force! If it is not latching, remove the battery and try a different orientation.

Charging the Battery via USB

  • The battery also charges if the camera is connected to a computer. Turn the camera off, insert the battery, and connect a USB cable.

 

  • Turn On
    • Turn the power switch to ON.
      • When set to 🔒 - the camera will be in locked mode - all buttons/dials will be locked.

  • Insert SD card
  • The SD card slots are located on the right side of the camera. Holding the card in the orientation shown, slide it in until it clicks into place at the back of the slot. 

 

  • Formatting SD Cards

  • In the Screenshot 2024-10-29 at 10.52.13 AM.png (SET UP)  tab, select USER SETTING > FORMAT
    • Select the desired card slot.
    • Select [OK].

All the data it contains is erased!!! The card is initialized.

Settings

  • Recommended Recording Settings
    • In the (movie settings) tab, select MOVIE MODE 
      • Main Resolution -> 4K 16:19 Frame Rate -> 23.98P (cinematic) -> 100Mbs
      • Compression should be -> Long GOP
      • The codec should be the default -> H.264 

 

  • Shutter Speed & ISO

  • Shutter Speed
    • The shutter speed dial is located on the top right of the camera.
      • To set the shutter speed, rotate the dial closest to your desired speed.
      • If the shutter speed listed is not the desired, rotate the rear dial to make fine adjustment.
      • To put into auto shutter speed, turn the dial to the A position
  • ISO
    • The ISO/sensitivity dial is located on the top left of the camera.
      • To set the ISO, rotate the dial to your desired sensitivity. 

      • To put into auto ISO speed, turn the dial to the A position 

         

  • White Balance
  • To quickly set the white balance, press the right selector button shown in the image below.
    • Then use the up and down selectors to toggle through the options.

There are 2 Audio inputs: 3.5mm Audio Jack (MIC), and a built-in Stereo Microphone (BUILT IN).

Troubleshooting Guide

Q: The camera will not turn on or it turns off by itself.

 A: The battery pack is depleted. Replace or charge the battery pack. You can also try removing the battery pack and reattaching it.

Q: There are smudges or black specks on the image and the lens is clean.

A: The sensor may need to be cleaned. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE SENSOR. RETURN TO THE EDC. We will be happy to clean it for you.

Tips & Tricks

  • Test your camera build prior to leaving the EDC during your check-out.
  • When raising the camera on a tripod, do not lift the camera up by the top handle. Always lift from the tripod head.
  • Always have one battery charging when filming.
  • Do not film in the rain. 
  • If filming outdoors, keep your camera clean and protected from the environment and elements.
    • Put a tarp on the ground if filming in dirt or sand to keep the camera build clean. Dirt & Sand can cause damage.
  • Remember to return the kit how you received it.
    • A kit lens must be on the Camera, OR you must cover the camera body with the Body Port Cap and the rear of the lens with a rear lens cap.
    • Batteries may be left in the SIDE case pockets
  • Do not return other item mixed in the case.
