- Capacity depends on the video resolution and how much you need to film.
- You can still use a small capacity card if you have a lot to film by having multiple cards or offloading footage often (just be sure to account for offloading time during scheduling).
- Using a SDXC card with the properties above, you can expect approximately the following recording times with the following recommended settings:
- Main Rec Format -> XF-AVC YCC422 10 bit
- Main Resolution -> 2k with IntraFrame
- Frame Rate -> 23.98P or 29.97P

Quick Start Overview
First Steps

Insert Battery
- Turn the power switch off.
- Insert the battery all the way into the compartment as shown in the illustration and press it gently toward the left until it clicks.

Remove the battery
- Turn the power switch off.
- Holding down the BATTERY RELEASE button (1), slide the battery toward the right and then pull it out (2).

Turn On
- Turn the power switch to ON.
- When set to 🔒 - the camera will be in locked mode - all buttons/dials will be locked.
- Turn the power switch to ON.
- Open the card compartment cover (2).
- Insert the card straight, with the label facing the side opposite to the lens, into the SD card slot until it clicks (3).Insert SD card
- Close the card compartment cover (4).
Formatting SD Cards

- Push the Menu button on the camera -> Select the
menu -> [Initialize Media].
- Select the desired card.
- Select [OK].
- The card is initialized and all the data it contains is erased.
- Push the Menu button on the camera -> Select the
Main Recording Destination
- Push the Menu button on the camera -> Recording/Media Setup -> [Main Recording Destination]
- Then Select [CFexpress] or [SD Card]

- Main Resolution -> Preferred Resolution with IntraFrame
- Frame Rate -> 23.98P (cinematic) or 29.97P (more video/tv look)

Shutter Speed

- First, change the shutter mode to Speed by pressing the MENU button.
- On the 2nd page of the 🎥 menu, select SHUTTER MODE -> Speed
- Return to your image by pressing the "x" on the top right of the menu
- Touch the lower left corner of the LCD screen to enable touch screen.
- Select the Shutter Speed box - the 5th box to the right of "X"
- Dial it to 1/50 for natural motion blur for 23.98P or 29.97P.
- Once selected, touch the ⏎ button on the lower left corner to return to the previous menu.
- First, change the shutter mode to Speed by pressing the MENU button.

Shutter Angle
- If you prefer, you can use Shutter Angle instead of Shutter Speed
- First, change the shutter mode to Angle by pressing the MENU button.
- On the 2nd page of the 🎥 menu, select SHUTTER MODE -> Angle
- Return to your image by pressing the "x" on the top right of the menu
- Touch the lower left corner of the LCD screen to enable touch screen.
- Select the Shutter Angle box - the 5th box to the right of "X"
- Dial it to 180° for natural motion blur for 23.98P or 29.97P.
- Once selected, touch the ⏎ button on the lower left corner to return to the previous menu.

ISO
- Touch the lower left corner of the LCD screen to enable touch screen.
- Select the ISO box - the 4th box to the right of "X"
- Use the touchscreen to dial in to your preferred ISO by swiping left or right.
- Once selected, touch the ⏎ button on the lower left corner to return to the previous menu.
Native ISO (recommended for highest image quality)
based on Picture Profiles
- Canon Log 3: 800 and 3200
- BT: 400 and 1600

White Balance
- Touch the lower left corner of the LCD screen to enable touch screen.
- Select the White Balance box - the 1st box to the right of "X"
- Select the 💡 for scenes using warm tungsten lighting (usually indoors).
- Select the ☀️ for scenes using cool daylight lighting (usually outside).
- For custom white balance, use the K (Kelvin) menu to dial in your preferred white balance.
- Once selected, touch the ⏎ button on the lower left corner to return to the previous menu.

Audio
There are 3 Audio input types: 3.5mm Audio Jack (MIC), (INPUT), and a built in Stereo Microphone (BUILT IN).

Recording
- Ensure the power switch is set to Video
- Press the red recording button on the handgrip to Start & Stop recording
- The Power & SD card access indicators will illuminate Red during recording.
Troubleshooting Guide
Q: The camera will not turn on or it turns off by itself.
A: The battery pack is depleted. Replace or charge the battery pack. You can also try removing the battery pack and reattaching it.
Q: There are smudges or black specks on the image and the lens is clean.
A: The sensor may need to be cleaned. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE SENSOR. RETURN TO THE EDC. We will be happy to clean it for you.
Q: The camera is recording but clips are not recorded or only parts of the clips are recorded.
A: You are not using a compatible SD card for your recording settings. You can either lower the quality of the recordings or use a higher grade SD Card.
Q: Audio is not recorded.
A: The audio input source is not correctly selected or a microphone is not connected to the selected terminal.

Tips & Tricks
- Test your camera build prior to leaving the EDC during your check-out.
- Do not remove the camera cage.
- When raising the camera on a tripod, do not lift the camera up by the top handle. Always lift from the tripod head.
- Always have one battery charging when filming.
- Always select the appropriate tripod based on the weight of your camera build. If you have anything more than a 5" or 7" monitor, reserve the Miller CXV10 Tripod.
- Do not film in the rain.
- If filming outdoors, keep your camera clean and protected from the environment and elements.
- Put a tarp on the ground if filming in dirt or sand to keep the camera build clean. Dirt & Sand can cause damage.
- When scheduling your shoot, always include time to build and break down your build as well as time to offload footage.
- Remember to return the kit how you received it.
