PARAMOUNT SOUNDSTAGE HAZER PERMIT & PROCEDURE GUIDE
Here at the Paramount Soundstage, we strive to foster a safe and healthy work environment that allows the students to grow and experiment while learning industry wide standards that they can carry with them into the world.
On the Paramount Soundstage, we have our own registered Haze Machine with a Permit from the Fire Department. It is the only Machine permitted to be used on the Soundstage. No outside Foggers or Hazers are allowed to be used.
This guide is to help you to navigate the process of registering Hazer Use on the Soundstage. Please read the following procedures carefully to help make your time and experience productive.
On the days of your Production when you would like to use the Hazer, please fill out this form and follow these Procedures below.
- At the beginning of the Shoot day, the AD must have a safety meeting to let everyone know the rules for using the Hazer.
- The AD must assign an Effects Coordinator to work with the Soundstage Staff on the use of the Haze Machine. They should meet with Soundstage staff to go over how it operates and best practices before use.
RULES
1) There must be a dedicated crew member, aka "Effects Coordinator" in charge of managing the Haze Machine.
2) The Hazer must remain OFF until everything is set and ready to have the actors in.
3) Everyone on the Cast and Crew must eat, drink water and use the bathroom prior to the Hazer turning on to reduce the amount of people coming in and out of the space while the Hazer is in use.
5) Our Signage letting people know that a Hazer is in Use must be put on the Outside of the Soundstage doors and on the Inside to remind crew members where to exit.
6) ALL DOORS MUST BE CLOSED. Both the Double Doors to the stage, Both Double Doors to the Cat Walk, and the Doors to the Cage.
7) If anyone needs to leave the Soundstage while the Hazer is in use, they must exit through the Equipment Cage, not the main double doors to the hallway.
8) Once you are done with the Haze Machine, you must let the Haze dissipate for at least 20 mins before opening any doors.
