GENERAL POLICIES

Failure to fulfill any of the below requirements may result in restrictions on the future use of the facility.

 

RESTRICTIONS

  • NO FOOD or BEVERAGES.
  • NO PETS.
  • NO SMOKING, or VAPING.
  • NO FLAMES OF ANY KIND. This includes; candles, birthday candles, lanterns, torches, lighters, matches, etc.  
  • NO WEAPONS. This Includes; Firearms, knives, swords, & any other weapons.
  • NO DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. If a student is found to be under the influence, they will be asked to leave and will not be allowed back on the Soundstage. 
  • NO SPRAY PAINTING in the Paramount building, Room 410, or on the Soundstage. Spray painting must be approved by management and an approved properly ventilated outdoor space must be secured for painting. 
  • NO USING The EMERGENCY LADDER to access the catwalk. Soundstage staff ONLY. Ladder is for emergency exit use only. 

If there is a need for eating, drinking, animals, or vaping, for dramatic purposes then stage management approval is required.

 

ATTIRE

  • Sturdy footwear must be worn with rubber sole heels appropriate for working. Sandals, Flip flops, Slide-ons, Crocs, and minimalist shoes are not allowed to be worn while working on the soundstage
  • No Excessive Metal jewelry on hands, wrists, and around neck.
  • No Excessively Loose flowing clothing
  • Bring Appropriate Gloves

 

 

Prop Weapons may be used, but only with prior approval by the Soundstage Manager, your faculty advisor, the Emerson Director of Production Safety, and ECPD. All standard protocols, which are outlined in the SOUNDSTAGE WEAPONS POLICY, must be followed. Failure to get approvals and follow procedure will lead to the termination of the production and prohibit future use of the Soundstage.

 

 

STUDENT/FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • All faculty and students using the stage are responsible for arriving and leaving the facilities on time.
  • Late arrival to the stage will result in loss of stage time. Extending stage time due to lateness is not permitted without prior approval.
  • All productions must check in with the Soundstage Manager upon arrival and before you leave the Soundstage. Please do not leave the soundstage until the manager has released you. 
  • All faculty and students using the stage are responsible for properly wrapping and cleaning up the equipment that is being returned as well as the equipment that lives on the stage by the scheduled out-time for any class or production. After each use the stage will be inspected. 
  • Faculty and/or Graduate Assistants (GAs) and key crewmembers must wait until the stage manager on duty completes the inspection and releases them. If the stage is not left in proper condition, or the equipment is excessively damaged or missing, future use of the Soundstage may be prohibited. 
  • All expendables such as: gels, diffusion, clothes pins, tape, pens, pencils, Sharpies, film stock, or household batteries are the responsibility of the students or organization using the stage. You must provide your own expendables. Faculty Classes will have a stock of supplies per semester.
  • LOADING DOCK REQUESTS need to be made Minimum of 2 weeks prior to need.
