Workday Student Change Network

The Workday Student Change Network is a team of trusted campus partners - students, faculty, and staff - who share information, gather feedback, surface risks, and help their peers successfully transition to Workday Student. With 37 members representing 8 areas of the college, the Change Network ensures that every corner of the Emerson community has a voice in the project and a direct line to the project team.

The Change Network launched on March 20, 2026, and meets monthly through go-live and beyond. It is led by the Workday Student Change Management team:

  • Frankie Frain - Assistant Vice President, IT Security & Infrastructure / Change Management Lead
  • Kellie Fuller - Manager of Talent Development / Training Lead
  • Bob Montoya - Change Management Lead, Alchemy
  • Katie Lesniak - Change Management Consultant, Alchemy

Goals

The Change Network exists to minimize disruption and build confidence across the Emerson community as we transition to Workday Student. Its three core goals are:

🎯

Strengthen Readiness and Adoption

Help people prepare for new processes and support a smooth transition to Workday Student.

💬

Inform Communication and Training

Share frontline insights so project communications, training, and support reflect real campus needs.

📣

Increase Awareness of Impacts and Benefits

Ensure stakeholders understand what is changing, why it matters, and how Workday will improve their work and the student experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

Change Network members serve as a two-way communication bridge between the project team and the broader campus. Specifically, members are asked to:

  • Represent your department, team, or community by bringing their perspective to Change Network discussions and relaying relevant information back.
  • Serve as a project champion by helping communicate the "why" behind the Workday transition and keeping the culture positive as the project progresses.
  • Help identify impactful changes by raising concerns, questions, or issues specific to your area that the project team should be aware of.
  • Participate in project activities as needed, which may include testing, mock semester exercises, reviewing training materials, or attending additional sessions as the project timeline requires.

Meeting Schedule & Logistics

📅

Meeting Cadence

The third Friday of every month, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Eastern)

⏱️

Time Commitment

1-2 hours per month. This may increase as the project approaches go-live.

📂

Resources

Meeting presentations, recordings, and supplemental materials are provided to members after each session.

All meetings are held via Zoom and are recorded. Members who cannot attend a session can review the recording and materials afterward.

Activities

Between meetings, Change Network members stay engaged through activities like communicating with colleagues about the project, repeating key messages to their teams, sharing Workday information and new functionality as it becomes available, and providing feedback to the project team. As the project moves into testing and training phases, members may also be asked to participate in mock semester exercises, review documentation, or assist with system testing.

Members

The Change Network includes representation from across Emerson's vice presidential areas. Members were either nominated by leadership or volunteered based on their connection to the community. Membership is ongoing - if you are interested in joining, email smp_cm@emerson.edu.
