Reserving Equipment through Patron Portal

Starting in the Fall of 2020, equipment from the Media Services Center can be reserved online through the WebCheckout Patron Portal to ensure safe, contactless pickups and drop-offs at our office in Ansin 409.

Book in Advance

Patron Portal can be used to book equipment at a minimum of 2 hours in advance of your pickup time. For all other requests, please contact Media Services at 617-824-8676 or by email at media_services@emerson.edu.

Logging In

  1. Go to the WebCheckout Patron Portal
  2. Enter your Emerson College username and password as the User ID and Password
  3. Choose Media Services Center  -- If you wish to make a reservation from another checkout center available, please be aware that you will need to log in separately to do so.
  4. Please take a moment to read our message of the day, as it contains our operating hours, important announcements, and how to contact Media Services Center in case of questions or emergencies.

 Making a New Reservation

  1. Browse through the categories, and add items to the cart. Make sure to click Add for a specific item to reserve the individual resource -- you should see the item appear in your cart in the top right corner.
  2. You can also search with the magnifying glass magnifyingglass.png by keyword.
  3. Once you complete your selections, click the cart icon shoppingcart.png , then Create Reservation.
  4. Review your reservation by adjusting the start and end time -- reservations via Patron Portal can be borrowed for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 14 days.
  5. Please choose a pickup and return time that works with your schedule! While we can allow some grace period, arriving on time for your pickups and drop-offs will help us ensure that we maintain low density and contactless service.
  6. Please review any Resources in red to adjust any conflicts, either picking a different item or changing the start and end times of the reservation.
  7. You may add notes or attachment to the reservation -- this can include faculty approval, questions, or other documentation.
  8. Press Submit Reservation to complete. We will receive an email for your request and add it to our queue for approval.

Editing a Reservation

  1. Log into the WebCheckout Patron Portal
  2. Click the Menu icon menuicon.png in the top left corner and select My Account from the dropdown menu.
  3. On this page, you will see listed your Reservations, Current Checkouts, and History.
  4. You can only edit the bookings under My Reservation -- click on the line of the reservation you would like to edit.
  5. A new window will appear to show the detail of that reservation; select the Edit Reservation button on this window to make changes.
  6. Review and adjust the reservation, and Confirm any changes when you're done. You will also have the choice to Cancel Edits or Save for Later.

Canceling a Reservation

  1. Log into the WebCheckout Patron Portal
  2. Click the Menu icon menuicon.png in the top left corner and select My Account from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the line of the reservation you would like to cancel.
  4. Select the Cancel Reservation button, and confirm this choice in the second popup window to complete.
  5. A prompt will appear to confirm you are done, and the reservation will be removed from My Account page.
