Overview

The DMG Dash Light is a small RGB LED light panel - measuring at 5 x 3.1 x 1.1" / 12.8 x 8 x 2.8 cm.

It's wide variety of effects make it a great light for a lot of applications - natural lighting, party lighting, emergency lights, and much more. These modes are highly customizable. 

It has an internal battery with no need for wall power - although it can be used while charging. And it's compact size is great for smaller spaces!

Quick Start Guide

First Steps

  • Mounting the light to a light stand with a Baby Pin
    • Using the Light Stand Mount, screw the threading into the hole on the bottom or side of the light.
    • Loosen the tie-down on Light Stand Mount and secure onto the stand's baby pin.
  • Mounting the light to a magnetic surface
    • Using the Magnetic Mount, screw the threading into the hole on the bottom or side of the light.
    • Mount the magnetic mount to the magnetic surface.
      • Ensure the light is securely attached to the magnetic surface
  • Powering On/Off
    • Press and hold the ⏻ on the back of the fixture to turn ON/OFF

  3. Navigation Button (Quickly press to cycle through menu options & settings on the main screen)
  4. Dimming & Selection Wheel (Rotate to change intensity or scroll through the menu. Press in to select items)

    • White - This mode creates white light. You can adjust the attributes on the main screen (Color temperature, hue, saturation, intensity)
    • Color - This mode allows for custom color using HSI (Hue, Saturation and Intensity) You can adjust the attributes on the main screen 
    • Gel - This mode has pre-loaded gels .You can pick the gel and adjust the attributes on the main screen
    • FX - This mode has several common lighting effect. You can adjust the attributes on the main screen 
      • Emergency Vehicle,Paparazzi, TV Screen, Firelight, & Disco. 
    • Source M - This mode allows you to match several existing filmmaking light sources.
      • Green Screen,Blue Screen, Xenon, Candle Flame, Frosty Moonlight, HP Sodium, LP Sodium, Tungsten Domestic, Mercury Vapor & Sodium Vapor.

Charging

  • Use the provided USB-C to USB A and 5v AC adapter.
    • Connect the USB-C side to the USB-C port on the side of the light.
    • Connect the USB-A to the AC Adapter.
    • Plug the AC Adapter into the wall.
  • Charging Time from Dead to Full
    • 2hrs45min to 3hr15min

Troubleshooting

Q: The dial has fallen off or is loose.

A: The dial needs to be reattached. Please contact the EDC for additional support.

 

Q: The mounts are not screwing into the light.

A: Ensure you are screwing it in straight and are not cross-threading the connection. Do not force it in.

Tips & Tricks

  • This light is a great option for a lighted set piece. It can micmic sci-fi lighting in plain sight!
  • The light is small and great for close-ups. The effect play well on subjects
  • The colors/gels are very saturated but are also able to be desaturated. It is a versatile light for digital and film.
