Overview
After you have completed your production, please return your equipment to the EDC on the date and time indicated on your confirmation email. If you think you will be running late for your return or need to change your return time, please call us at 617-824-8815 or email us at edc_staff@emerson.edu
Where do I return my equipment?
Come in the front door and the Patron Support staff will locate your check out paperwork and mark your order as RECEIVED. Then proceed downstairs either in the elevator or staircase to return your equipment. Small orders can be placed in the cubbies or a student staff member will direct you where to place larger orders. If you need a cart to transport your equipment back to the EDC, you can borrow one from us. Please stop by our facility prior to your return and ask a staff member for assistance.
Why did I receive an auto late email?
If you already returned your equipment on time and still received an auto late email from WebCheckout, you can disregard this. On busy days, it may take us longer to process orders, especially larger ones. If there are any issues with your return, a manager will contact you directly.
Why did I receive a partial return email?
If you have received a partial return email, please check that you do not have any of the outstanding equipment in your possession. If you find something after you’ve returned the rest of your equipment, please contact us immediately at edc_staff@emerson.edu and let us know.
What to do if an item(s) are lost, broken or stolen?
If lost or broken:
If an item has been lost on set, please contact us immediately. We are more than happy to try to get you a replacement item should you need it to ensure you can complete your production. If the item can not be located, a manager will be in touch with you to discuss replacement.
Please do not try to replace items or repair broken parts yourself. We have deals with all the major manufacturers and we can buy replacement parts at a much cheaper price than you can, while also ensuring that the correct parts are acquired. These savings will be passed on to you when your invoice is created.
We also have engineers that are able to fix our equipment depending on the situation. If you tamper with the equipment, you are liable to potentially make a small problem into a larger one, which inturn could increase the price of your repair fee.
If stolen:
If an item has been stolen from your possession, first call Boston Police and Emerson College police. By notifying the proper authorities, they can begin their search for the item.
The next step would be to call us at the EDC. The process is then the same as if the item is lost or broken. If you need a replacement to finish your shoot, we will do our best to accommodate you.
We are always here to help you in any way that we can. It is your responsibility to keep in communication with us and to let us know if you need our help. Simply put: if we don’t know, we can’t help.
