XR Studio Opening/Closing Procedures

Opening Procedure & Testing

  1. Make sure all VX2+ Media Servers and RXII Render Servers are online. Notify the manager, if not.
  2. Restart all Media and Render servers.
  3. Check to make sure the camera tracking is online and the data flow is active. Tracking values should be updating.
  4. Once back online, launch Monogram Creator on the Director. Make sure the EML profile is loaded onto the Monogram control interfaces. Test to make sure the software registers the button presses and sliding faders.
  5. Launch d3manager, then launch the current default disguise project (eml_demo).
  6. KVM onto the Teacher's Station, and log in as '3dlabassistant'. Make sure Companion is launched, and the default shortcuts are loaded.
  7. Back on the Director, make sure the default project is loaded on both Director and Actor.
  8. In the XR Studio, turn on the ETC IonXE Lighting Console.
  9. Make sure both Quasars are online. Make sure the stage right quasars have been manually turned on, if needed. You will need to press and hold the power button on each individual stripe until you see white lights blinking. Go from top to bottom. Safely use the staircase to get to proper elevation.
  10. Turn on the RED Komodo-X camera.
  11. Turn on the XR Studio TV.
  12. On the demo track, launch a RenderStream project, such as the Kitchen scene. Start the workload.
  13. Set the lighting grid to the corresponding scene cue (it's noted below on the disguise timeline, in the corresponding section). For example, the Kitchen scene would be Cue 401.
  14. Once the RenderStream is up on the wall, if applicable, make sure the Quasars are receiving video feed whether from a preset video layer or the in-scene RenderStream. Refer to the Video Input Patch Editor accordingly, if needed.
  15. Locate the FIZ controller. Turn it on. Make sure the battery is charged.
  16. On the Teaching Station StreamDeck, set the recording format to 4K H265. Begin Recording.
  17. In the XR Studio, move the camera between the sides of the wall to ensure that live-compositing, camera tracking, and Spatial calibration are operational.
  18. Then step in front of the camera, zoom in/out, focus in/out to ensure camera tracking, the frustrum, and Spatial calibration are operational.
  19. Stop recording, go on the Teacher's Station, to the EML-XR-NAS > XR Studio Recordings, and confirm the recording was output to that network folder from the Hyperdeck.

Closing Procedure

  1. Do not shut off any of the Media, Render servers, and workstations.
  2. Ensure workstations are signed off, but not shut off.
  3. On the Director, end all workloads.
  4. Fade Down the disguise project.
  5. Save+Quit out of disguise.
  6. Close out of any software/Unreal projects on the RXII servers, if applicable.
  7. Shut off the camera.
  8. Lens cap the camera.
  9. Do not lens cap the stYpe Redspy.
  10. Ensure the gib is completely locked.
  11. Shut down the lighting console by hitting [Macro]+ [2], then [ENTER].
  12. Turn off the house lights.
  13. If one of the quasars' stripes is glowing orange (or in general) after the lighting console shut down, switch it off. There should be a red switch on its respective power cable, usually tucked behind the light(s),
  14. Set the FIZ controller battery to charge, if needed. Swap the two batteries accordingly.
  15. Ensure XR Studio door is locked.
