Tangent Control Surfaces: Setup in DPL Suites

Overview

The DPL suites are equipped with Tangent Wave 2 Control Surfaces to assist in your Color Correction and Color Grading work. These devices have trackballs, dials, and buttons which control the various settings available on in the color interfaces in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. 

Setting up the Tangent Wave in Premiere Pro

The Tangent Wave needs to be set up in the Premiere Pro settings before it will gain control of the software.

Open the Premiere Pro Settings menu and select Control Surface

You will see an empty window with the heading "Device Class." Click Add.

This will open another window prompting you to select the brand of the control surface. Select Tangent Extended.

Then click OK.

Once that is set, the Tangent Wave Control Panel will be able to control your settings in Premiere Pro's Lumetri Color window.

Setting up the Tangent Wave in DaVinci Resolve

The Tangent Wave needs to be set up in the DaVinci Resolve settings before it will gain control of the software.

Open the DaVinci Resolve Preferences menu.

Navigate to Control Surfaces

Under "Color Grading Panel," we will select the Panel for grading. Open the menu and select Tangent Devices Wave.

Close the settings window.

Restart DaVinci Resolve.

Now, the Tangent Wave Control Panel will be able to control your settings in DaVinci Resolve's Color Tab.
