Logging in to ApplicationXtender

ApplicationXtender (also called Banner Document Management) is Emerson's document and image storage solution.  It enables departments across campus to link documents directly to records in Banner, such as admission application documents, student transcripts, and financial aid records.

Logging in to Xtender

  1. Logging in to Xtender requires logging in to Internet Native Banner (INB) first to sync your password. Follow this guide, Configuring Java for INB, to ensure that your Java settings are configured properly.
  2. Next, log in to eCommon.  Go to Employee > Banner INB and click on the Log into Banner INB link.
    • If your INB account password differs from your Emerson account, you will receive a message that looks like this:

    • If so, click on the Click Here link.

    • If you did not receive this message, INB should start up automatically for you.

  3. In INB, click on Tools > Banner Document Management > Retrieve Documents

    • You'll receive an alert window that looks like this:

  4. Click OK and a new browser window will open up. If you don't see anything, make sure to Allow pop-ups for the inb.emerson.edu domain.

  5. The new window should open up and you'll see the 'No Documents Found!' alert. You can ignore this.

Your Xtender account password is now synchronized to your Emerson account password. Before closing that browser window, make sure to log out of Xtender by clicking on the key icon in the top left corner.
