Faculty Management

Contacts

The Contact object is used to capture data about Faculty Members

Data in the contact object is populated via a data integration from Banner and Workday

Contact Related Data are displayed in Related Lists

On the contact record contact, details appear on the left hand side of the page and related records are displayed on the right hand side in sections called “related lists”

Accounts 

Accounts are used to track details related to Academic Programs, Educational Institutions, University Departments and Business Organizations

You can view this data in List Views:

1. Click Accounts

2. On the left hand side Click the dropdown arrow next to the word Account

3. Find the list of data you would like to view. Click the pin icon to make your favorite list view the default list view that is displayed when you click on the Account Object

Course

A Course is an instance of a class that's offered at your educational institution and is typically associated with the University Department “Account” that offers it. For example:

Course Section

A Course Section represents a specific instance of a Course that's offered during a specific Term.

Course Assignment

A Course Assignment represents a relationship between a faculty member, and a Course Offering.

Course Assignments are updated in Salesforce daily via integration with Banner

Banner Updates and Notifications

1.Integration comes in to Salesforce via Banner, containing all of the current course information each morning at 6am.

2.Faculty Course Invitations are sent in Salesforce.

3.Faculty invites are accepted/declined by faculty.

4.Course assignment confirmed inside of Salesforce by changing status to Assignment Confirmed

5.Report for Banner is updated: Confirmed Course Invites - For Registrar

6.A scheduled email is sent at 7AM daily to people who are responsible for data input in Banner, who attach faculty to courses
