Have you come across one of our job postings and thought, oh cool, an opportunity to work in downtown Boston on a city campus?
Our campus on the Boston Common is very cool. But there's so much more to it.
Emerson’s curricula and programs are all about expression and storytelling, from filmmaking to television broadcast, journalism to communication sciences, marketing, writing, acting, musical theater, public relations — you can even minor in comedy. We support about 6,500 students across our Boston campus, online programs, and centers in Los Angeles and Europe (yes, we own a castle in the Netherlands where students can live for a semester).
The College owns and operates the Majestic, Paramount, and Colonial theaters through ArtsEmerson, which you may have heard advertised on WERS 88.9, our student-run radio station which ranks #1 nearly every year by Princeton Review. Technology is fundamental to almost every facet of the institution, whether it’s to enable virtual learning, secure access to storage and media applications, or produce a BFA thesis in a state of the art sound stage. With student projects in constant production, the College’s equipment center manages a massive vending operation comprised of cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and so much more. The equipment center, as well as our IT Help Desk and production spaces, hire hundreds of student employees per semester to staff our call center, support classrooms and labs, and manage facilities and equipment, sometimes serving as a pipeline for future full time hires.
In the technology division, we’re looking for staff who find an atmosphere and community like Emerson’s exciting. We want to foster a culture of adaptability, collaboration, reliability, and integrity, that’s well-humored and engaged. We hold ourselves to high standards and look for every opportunity to celebrate successes. We take pride in developing reliable and innovative solutions, and we invest heavily in doing so. We also invest in one another — everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and as an environment of teaching and learning, we are committed to helping one another grow, which means allowing space to take risks and to work with new technology.
We love working at Emerson because it’s not just any school, and we hope you feel the same.
