The newest version of the Mac operating system, macOS 10.14 Mojave, is now available to campus. After testing compatibility, we're allowing Emerson faculty and staff with Emerson-owned macOS devices to update their systems to Mojave.
If you choose to update to Mojave, you can access it by launching Emerson IT Self Service on your Mac. On the Featured tab select Upgrade to macOS Mojave.
Before you begin
Before upgrading, please back up all important data on your computer.
This is a major change to your computer’s file system: some users have lost data upon updating, so backing up your documents and bookmarks is especially important. For more information on backing up your data, please visit our guide on Backing Up Data at Emerson College.
If you try to upgrade and receive this message:
This is because your computer is too out of date for this upgrade. Please submit a ticket to it.emerson.edu/help and the Help Desk will help get your computer updated.
Instructors, please note
Computer labs and classrooms will remain on High Sierra through the Spring semester, and will be updated to Mojave over the summer of 2019.
