macOS 10.14: Mojave

In September of 2018, the newest version of the Mac operating system, macOS 10.14 Mojave, became available on the Mac App Store.

Emerson IT is currently testing this release in our environment and with our supported applications. We have received notices that some software we currently use on campus is not yet compatible with this new operating system.

Because of this, upgrading to Mojave is currently restricted for faculty and staff with Emerson-owned macOS devices.

Once we have completed testing compatibility, we will allow Emerson faculty and staff with Emerson-owned macOS devices to update their systems to Mojave.

For personal devices not managed by Emerson, it may be in your best interest not to upgrade immediately, as there could be new features in macOS 10.14 that may not be compatible with current software applications on campus. If you do decide to upgrade, we strongly recommend backing up all important data on the computer before upgrading.

Computer labs and classrooms were updated to macOS 10.13 High Sierra over the summer in preparation for the Fall 2018 semester, and they will remain on this version until further testing is complete.
