The New eCommon

In Spring 2018, the links and resources previously available on ecommon.emerson.edu were moved to the main Emerson website, at https://emerson.edu/user . (The new eCommon portal is also available at ecommon.emerson.edu, which re-directs to the new site.) The new version of eCommon requires you to log in via Duo with your Emerson username and password.

Features/changes include:

  • Accordion menus rather than a tab-based interface.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) integration via Duo, which allows you to enter any other SSO-protected resources without logging in again.
  • Your role at the college (student, faculty, staff, etc.) will determine the links you are presented when you log in.
  • Links that previously embedded Self Service Banner (SSB) inside of eCommon (such as Budget Queries, employee Time Sheets, Requisitions, and updating personal information) will now link directly to SSB, where those same links and functions will be available as always (go here for guides and definitions for SSB, INB, and Banner).

The new eCommon sorts them by accordion menus, mostly under the same headings. You can see that the same links and information (COAS Crosswalk, Budget Queries, etc.) are still available.


The new eCommon launched on April 8th.
