Media Transfer, Duplication & Digitization

Media Services provides a number of production services to the Emerson community for classroom needs and academic events. These include audio and video duplication, video capture and editing, and analog to digital video format transfer.

All production work is done within the restrictions of copyright legislation

We will refer large quantities or bulk duplication to outside video production houses. Please contact us for referrals.

We can transfer the following physical media formats (up to five copies each):

  • DVD to DVD
  • VHS to DVD
  • Mini-DV to DVD
  • Cassette tape to CD

Along with our analog video/audio duplication services, we offer two services for digitizing video material for faculty members:

  • Upload a digital file to the Emerson online media library, Panopto. Typical digital file formats are .mp4 and .mov. Please consult us for file format recommendations.
  • Clips compilation DVD curated from the Emerson College library collection. Our staff can extract and compile the selected clips onto 1 DVD which you can use in the classroom, so you can have a hard copy ready to go! This process does take longer to complete, so during the academic year, we ask that you give us one week for turnaround. Please also limit your request to five clips, each clip with a maximum of 20 minutes. If you like to plan ahead during Summer or Winter vacation, we can work with you to produce multiple compilation DVDs.

We do not copy or create content for personal projects.

Please contact Media Services at media_services@emerson.edu, call 617-824-8676 or visit Ansin 409.
