This guide will explain how to remove and add Konica Copiers for printing on both Mac and Windows computers. If this is your first time setting up a Konica Copier to print to start here.
Removing existing Konica copiers
Windows 8, 10
- Click on the Start
button, begin to type
Control Panel
and select Control Panel once it shows up. - In Control Panel, select View devices and printers (under Hardware and Sound).
- Right-click the copier and select Remove Device.
Mac
- Launch System Preferences by going to the Apple
menu and selecting System Preferences.
- In System Preferences, select Printers & Scanners in the second row.
- Highlight the copier and select the minus symbol to remove it from the list.
Adding a new Konica copier Windows or Mac
Windows 8, 10
- Open a File Explorer window and type
\\sofie
in the file path field. - Click View > Details for a cleaner layout to find the copier you need.
- Once you locate the copier within Sofie double-click it.
- It will automatically install for your user profile.
- Once installed, click on the Start
button, and start typing
Control Panel
and then click the Control Panel option when it appears. - In Control Panel, select View devices and printers (under Hardware and Sound).
- Right-click the copier that you just added and select Printer Preferences.
- In the new dialog box select the Basic tab.
- Select the Authentication/Account track button.
- Under Account Track enter your copy code into the Password field. You can leave the Department field blank. If you have forgotten your copy code, contact the Print & Copy Center, 617-824-8593.
- Once you’ve entered your copy code, click Verify. If you have been set up to be able to print to the copier, you will see a confirmation that this succeeded.
- Click Apply, then OK.
Mac
- Go into your Applications folder and launch the app Emerson IT Self Service.
- Log in to Emerson IT Self Service.
- On the left sidebar, select the Printers category.
- Find the copier you would like to add and select Install.
- Open Mozilla Firefox.
- Select File > Print.
- Select the copier from the dropdown menu under Printer.
- Click the dropdown that says Firefox (if you do not see this dropdown, click the Show Details button), and select Output Method.
- Check the box for Account Track.
- In the new window, leave the Department Name field blank, and enter your copy code as the Password. If you have forgotten your copy code, contact the Print & Copy Center, 617-824-8593.
- Enable the checkbox for Save Settings, and click OK.
- Back in the Print dialog, click the Presets dropdown menu and select Save current settings as preset…
- Give the preset a name, select Only this printer, and click OK. Your copy code has been saved in this preset for future use.
You're all set to print to the new Konica copier!
